Great Idea but it has major issues
- Pros: Its well built and easy to run. Even the software does some really cool things. The camcorder has a nice view finder for bright light conditions
- Cons: JVC only gives 3-CCD a bad name meaning the camcorder can't resolve detail beyond 960x540 ie its just a little better than standard definition. The camcorder has very bad pixel latency in sports mode. The Auto white light adjustment does not work. If the gain is not enabled the camcorder can’t even work in a bright room. JVC also was not willing to have the camcorder produce a standard file format. This means you must run the software to convert every movie before editing it. Top it off the software that comes with the camcorder crashes or hangs one out of ten movies while converting the files. Then JVC even admits that the camcorders OIS does not work. JVC needs to come up with a major firmware upgrade or recall this camcorder.
- Other Thoughts: JVC may have broken New York state laws (ie Fraud) and they used the internet so it becomes a federal crime. The crime was sating the camcorder has OIS when it does not. Also this camcorder does not record in FULL HD(pixel issues) in normal lighting and at the normal frame rate (60F or even 24Frames per second). Bottom line don’t buy this camcorder buy another brand if you own it please call tech support and complain. Ask them when are the releasing a new firmware upgrade along with software upgrade and are they willing to replace the camcorder when engineering figures out whats wrong with the design.
- Pros: looks pretty cool, 16:9 widescreen pictures, excelent media manager, very easy to use, very well designed.
- Cons: No night vision, stabilizer not working.

Best HD Camcorder So far
- Pros: Camera works great even in low light. TRUE 1920 x 1080i not the 1440 x 1080i junk! Although if you prefer you can use 1440 x 1080.
- Cons: Included software is slow on Vista 64bit, but faster than any other camcorders that use tapes as their storage medium.
- Other Thoughts: even though there is no night vision you can adjust the shutter speed to compensate, this provides full colors with only a minor lag with action shots.
- Pros: looks pretty cool, 16:9 widescreen pictures, excelent media manager, very easy to use, very well designed.
- Cons: No night vision, stabilizer not working.
