Around 1990, I bought my first sequence, the MT-100 Digital Sequencer and Sound Module. It was my first musical machine. Throughout the years, I made all kinds of music. Well, it is all my first, so please be easy.
From jazz to techno, hip-hop to classical, to even abstract, the first sequence is one of my personal favorites. It reminds me of how life was just getting started for me.
The following is music that I made from 1990 until 1995. From Pasadena California, California State University Los Angeles, back to Pasadena California, and to Long Beach California. Here is my The First Sequence.
Right when I turned 18, on February 13, 1990, I bought my VERY FIRST keyboard and sequencer. The Roland MT-100 was an all-in-one digital sequencer and sound module. I also bought a keyboards which had keys the size of grand pianos. This keyboard however did not have pitch control.
The disks or discs (I changed the "c" and "k" for almost every disk) were a the small quick disks, about 2.8". I recorded my sequences during the time I had the Roland MT-100 on these disks. I labelled each disk starting from 1-12. Then I started from A-E, T, Z. Then I added AB and AA, and then I wanted to start a XMAS one too.
The recording of the sequence was not done in the order it appears and I did not keep record of when, where, or how I recorded the sequence. Some of the music I experimented with and some I actually put time into it.
Since all of the music is out of order, I really do not have any idea which song was the second or last, but I do remember my first, Intimacy. It was like I lost my virginity with that song. Though, you can tell it is my first. WOW! It sucked azz.....
Please remember that all of these tracks ARE my first, so be easy!!!
